the basics:

What’s a Free Play Arcade? Do I need to bring quarters?

A free play arcade is all the fun you’re nostalgic for, and none of the tokens or quarters. At Retro Electric, just pay an admission fee to enter the arcade area, and have all the fun you want! Play as many games as you want without worrying about feeding our machines dollars, quarters or tokens.

Admission Policy

The arcade is an admission-based attraction. Everyone who chooses to enter the arcade must purchase admission regardless of age or intent to play. Admission rates are hourly and cannot be prorated.

Are you Kid-friendly?

We are family friendly, but we are not a “kiddie” arcade! All ages are welcome, but we think ages 8 and up will have the most fun. We offer a retro arcade experience — most of our classic games are 40+ years old. We don’t have ticket games or prizes. We’re super thrilled if you want to bring your young kids to experience the glory days of the arcade, but ALL arcade guests must treat our games, display items and store items with care. Small children must be supervised at all times, and must play with an adult. We do not allow strollers in the arcade or the shop.

Do you have food and drinks? Can I bring my own?

We’ve got candy, unique sodas and of course, water! No outside food or drinks — unless it’s for a reserved party or private event.

Do I have to book a party or can I just bring my Group in?

Come on in, we welcome groups. If you’re planning to bring in a larger group (20 people or more) we would love a heads up so we can be ready for you! Please note that only reserved parties are allowed to bring in outside food, drinks, gifts, etc.

Can I come in and look around?

More than just an arcade — Retro Electric is a unique retail shop like none other, and you’re always welcome to come in and shop. Please do not enter the arcade area if you have not purchased arcade admission.

Do you buy old stuff?

We sure do. Read more here.

WHAT TYPE OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept all major credit/debit cards and cash. Please leave those bags of quarters at home, though!

Do you allow photography in the arcade?

PERSONAL PHOTOS: You are welcome to take photos or videos of your experience for you personal use, as long as you are not obstructing any other patrons in the arcade.

PROFESSIONAL / HOBBY PHOTOS: To ensure the best experience for all of our guests, we do NOT allow professional or hobby photography sessions to take place in the arcade during open hours. If you are interested in booking a photo session in the arcade, it would be considered a private rental.

Arcade Rules

When purchasing an arcade admission wristband, guests agree to abide by the rules below and to play games at their own risk. Please note this is not an exhaustive list. We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave the arcade. Bottom line here is to respect our classic games, our staff and your fellow arcade patrons.

Guest conduct

Some of these games are 40+ years old. We require that all guests, regardless of age, treat our games and staff with care and respect. Behaviors that cannot be permitted include (but are not limited to) roughness or pounding on the games/pinball machines, roughness with antique Nintendo consoles, running, horseplay, or tampering with our decorations.

Pinball rules

We will explain our house rules to you in detail when you receive your wristband. In short, we expect you to finish any game of pinball that you start and correctly utilize the flippers. Small children must play pinball with an adult. We know many are new to the game of pinball and it’s totally fine if you’ve never played before! We are here to help and get you playing the correct way — any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!

Ask for help

We’re here to help you! If you don’t know how to start a game, have a problem during one of your games, or any other questions — just ask!

Food & Drink Rules

With the exception of reserved parties or private events, we don’t allow outside food or drink. If you’ve purchased candy or a drink from us, please enjoy it at one of the tables in the arcade or in Mom’s Basement (our 80s themed living room with the retro consoles and TV’s). Spills happen, just let us know so we can clean up. But … absolutely NO setting drinks on the games!

Kid Policy

Please note that all guests are expected to follow our rules, regardless of age. Ages 12 and under need to be accompanied by an adult in the arcade at all times. Small children must be supervised at all times, and must play our games with an adult. We do not allow strollers in the arcade or the shop. Ages 13 and up are allowed to be in the arcade unsupervised, but are expected to abide by our rules. Retro Electric Arcade is not responsible for the care or supervision of children using our facilities, nor is it responsible if children leave our property unattended. We reserve the right to alter this policy.

Our spectator policy does extend to children — all guests in the arcade must have an admission wristband, regardless of age.

Stroller Policy

We do not allow strollers in the arcade or the shop.

Respect Each other

Respect your fellow arcade patrons and our staff. We welcome everyone here — all we ask that you are cool to the people around you. Any problems, please let us know right away.

Patron Agreement

Patrons purchasing an admission wristband agree to play games at their own risk, and will not hold Retro Electric Arcade, LLC liable for any injuries sustained on the property.
